Gladys Adelle Jones Grout's Obituary
GROUT, GLADYS ADELLE JONES was born September 21, 1925 at Indian Creek, TX and passed into the Lord’s presence January 4, 2014 at home in Frisco, TX. She met the love of her life, Raymond Grout while working at Camp Swift near Austin, TX in the early years of World War II where Ray was stationed before shipping out overseas. For thirty five years, they made their home in Montpelier, VT near Ray’s birthplace. Upon Ray’s retirement, they moved to Marble Falls, TX to be nearer to Glady’s family. And finally, they moved to Frisco, TX to be closer to their daughters. Always, Glady created a warm and loving home for Ray and their four children, and she loved spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren who knew her as Mom Grout. She loved color, Texas sunsets, making things grow, and most of all her family and her Lord. Her sweet spirit never failed her and her life was a shining example of the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. She is survived by her sister, Helen Corbitt Mueller of Austin, TX; daughter & caregiver, Cheryl Murray of Frisco, TX; son & daughter-in-law, Bruce & Tyan Grout of Bend, OR; daughter & son-in-law, Karen & Ted Ellis of Dallas, TX; daughter & son-in-law, Robin & Richard Bradley of Florence, KY, 11 beloved grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
