Gladys Marie Struckmeyer's Obituary
Gladys Marie Struckmeyer was born on April 18, 1927 in Lancaster, Texas and passed away on October 09, 2014 in Mesquite, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Benjamin and Ruby Baugus; brothers, Homer and J.B.; sisters, Leona and Wanda; and husband, Kurth Fritz Struckmeyer Sr. Gladys worked many years in the lunchroom at Mesquite High School and volunteered at Evans Senior Citizens Center serving lunch to the “elderly”. She lived in Mesquite for 50 years, where she kept watch over her loved neighborhood and friends. She never met a stranger and was loved by many people outside of her family. Gladys was a true “force to be reckoned with” and she never had a problem saying exactly what she thought. She will be missed and loved by those she leaves behind, brothers, RV and Willie Baugus; sisters, Shirley Baugus McKenzie and Sheila Baugus Irvin; her sons, John T. Horn and wife Alice Fay; Kurth Fritz Struckmeyer Jr.; daughter, Kurthene and husband, Charles Puckett; seven grandchildren, Vicki Inmon, Nancy Gills, Matthew Horn, Josh Carson, Hayden Carson and wife Jana, Rachel Thornton and husband Robert, and Lynsey Puckett; 11 great grandchildren, Dakota, Mariisa, Aubrey, Trevor, John, Jacob, Cheyenne, David, Mark, Karen, & Renee. The visitation for Gladys will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for Gladys will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238.
