Glenda J. Kennedy's Obituary
GLENDA J. KENNEDY of Terrell passed away September 15, 2024, a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was born on December 17, 1941, to the late Jesse W. and Ruth (Bolton) Durrett in Jacksonville, Texas. Glenda grew up in Cherokee County and later moved to Dallas County where she worked in the insurance industry for over 40 years and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Glenda’s love for family and friends was profound, infused in everything she did. She took immense pleasure in traveling with her friends, working in the flower beds and yard, working many hours on genealogy when she wasn’t visiting the casinos and going to concerts and reading.
Glenda is preceded in death by her husband Gary A. Kennedy of 49 years, son Danny W. Kennedy and daughter Cindy L. Hawkins, brother Larry Durrett and brother Ricky Durrett.
She is survived by her daughter Sherry Seale and husband Robert; granddaughters Christy Decker, Jessica Hawkins; grandson Cory Hawkins and wife Jeannie; great granddaughters Breanna Travis and husband John, Adalyn Hawkins; great grandsons Bryce Talent, Chase Talent; great-great granddaughter Victoria Castro; brothers Tony Durrett and wife Joyce, Danny Durrett and wife Linda.
