Glenda Sue Moore's Obituary
Glenda “Sue” Moore was born October 23, 1937, in Roscoe, TX, to Weldon and Oda Moore. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 26, 2017, in Dallas, TX. Sue was a graduate of Colorado City High School and North Texas State College (UNT) receiving a Bachelor of Administration in Journalism/Advertising/Business in 1959. Sue’s illustrious career began as a Dallas Morning News reporter before fully engaging in advertising where she handled numerous accounts including Seven Seas, Six Flags Over Texas / Over Georgia / Over Mid-America, Six Flags Show Productions, and La Quinta Inns. Her creative and marketing skills led to starting her own company, SMG Associates, Inc., where she served many accounts from 1977 until her retirement in 2006. After retiring she continued to be an advertising consultant for some of her accounts. Sue was quite talented in her field, receiving the 1975 Dallas Women in Communications Matrix Award in Advertising, the Southeast USA Tourism Council Creative Award in 1987, and several awards from the Professional Publishers Association for various advertising campaigns. Sue was a wise business woman, a clever journalist, frugal yet generous. We all enjoyed her sense of humor and appreciated her honest advice. Sue was a fan of the Cowboys, the Rangers, Winstar, Choctaw, Vodka tonic, and Amaretto. She took good care of the birds and loved cats. Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald Claye Moore.
