Glenda Faye Wycoff's Obituary
Glenda Faye Wycoff , age 87, passed away peacefully in her home in Dallas Texas on Thursday, February 29, 2024. She was born in Temple, Tx to Raymond Dennis Lowrey and Ruby Mae Chitty on July 1, 1936.
Glenda spent her young childhood in Temple, Texas before moving to Dallas. She is a 1954 graduate of Forest Avenue High School. She married the love of her life, Marvin on Sept. 17th, 1954 and they enjoyed 69 years of a very loving marriage. At the age of 18 she began working on the switchboard at Humble Oil which later became Exxon-Mobil. She proceeded to advance her way through numerous departments of Exxon-Mobil, eventually becoming an Executive secretary for numerous Board of Directors. In 2000, she retired after 42 years of service with one company. Her retirement years were spent attending ALL functions related to her grandsons, traveling with friends and family and weekly lunches with friends. She was the ultimate people person and at her happiest being surrounded with friends and family.
Glenda leaves her loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
Visitation For Mrs. Glenda Wycoff will be on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 10:00 am at Restland Memorial Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas TX.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Marvin Wycoff, daughter Marla Wycoff Hughston & son in law Mark Hughston, sister Sophia Hyepock, granddaughter Kate Hughston-Kennedy and husband Walt Kennedy, grandson Chris Hughston and wife Bridget Hughston, grandsons Ben Hughston and Parker Hughston, great grandchildren Wyatt Kennedy, Lauren Hughston and Theodore Hughston, honorary family member Milagros Soledad Olivera. “Aunt Glenda” is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death and welcomed into Heaven by her daughter Laura Wycoff Arnold, mother Ruby Chitty and stepfather Buck Chitty, brother Raymond Lowery & wife Jeanne Lowrey, sister Janiece Jones & husband Richard Jones, and granddaughter Ruby Ann Arnold.
