Glenn Ray Cox's Obituary
Glenn Ray Cox, 88, of Dallas, Texas, entered eternal life on October 13, 2014, with his family at his side. Born June 27, 1926, to Jon & Jewell Beene Cox , in Royce City, Texas, he graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in business. At UNT, he met and married the love of his life, Hazel Lucille (Lucy) Cason on June 4, 1950. In 1949, Glenn began his five-decade career in retail and wholesale giftware, retiring from Parker Sales as Vice President of Sales in 2004. His loyal customers trusted his integrity and he developed many long-time friends around the country. Glenn Cox spent his life devoted to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his immediate and extended family, his church of 55 years, and the service to others. He was a gentleman and true friend, always ready with a smile and helping hand to anyone he met. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucy Cox, children: Cindy Edwards and her husband Bruce of Mansfield, Tony Cox and his wife Suzy of Plano; grandchildren: Zachary and his wife Amber, Jonathan and Kelley Edwards, and Lora Cox; great-grandchildren: Taryn & Ryan Edwards. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack Cox of Breckenridge, Texas. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014, 6-8 pm at Restland Funeral Home. The memorial to celebrate Glenn’s life is Friday, October 17, 2014, 11:00 am at Northlake Baptist Church, 10110 McCree Road, Dallas, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Northlake Baptist Church.
