Glenna Melton Romans' Obituary
Glenna was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas to John Gilbert Melton and Ivy Emaline Morris Melton on July 2, 1933, and passed away on August 7, 2015. She moved to Dallas, Texas at 12 years, under the care of her sister, Mary, to study ballet with J.B. Neuman. She was the salutatorian of her high school class at Crozier Technical High School and attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She worked at Blue Cross of Texas, before marrying and raising her children. Glenna administered a charitable trust for many years of her life directing the establishment of scholarships and funds for academic endeavors for schools and Universities, including the University of Texas, Baylor University, Wayland Baptist University, and the Sunshine Cottage School of the Deaf. In 1991, she married William E. Romans and began a new chapter in her life traveling the world. She was an active member of the Wilshire Baptist Church. Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Romans, Sr. Glenna was a loving, caring, generous wife and mother, and is survived by children Vicki Barrett (Steven), Lori Gooden (Wayne), Mark Williams (Lesa), Michael Williams (Gale), Jean Trebert, Susan Hieb (Lee), William Romans Jr. (Dee), Robert Romans, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Memorial Service held Monday, August 10, 2015 10:00AM at Wilshire Baptist Church, 4316 Abrams Rd, Dallas TX 75214. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wilshire Baptist Church Pathways Endowment, 4316 Abrams Rd., Dallas, TX 75214.
