Mamaw didn’t just meet people, she treated every single person like they were part of her own family. She was as funny as she was kind, and she spent over a century teaching everyone around her how to truly love. While the time that I was blessed to have her in my life was simply a paragraph in the incredible story that was her life, I am so grateful to have learned what her laugh sounded like, to see her smile fill her beautiful face, and to know the warmth and love that came from her hug, especially as she pulled you closer and kissed your cheek. Life is so short, even when it’s 104 years long.
