Mrs Gloria Dean Grant's Obituary
Gloria Dean’s life journey began December 22, 1934, Dallas Texas. She was the eldest of three children born to the late Eunice B. and Walter H.Turner. The sun set on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. She joined Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church at an early age. It was quickly observed in those early years that God had blessed her with a musical gift. She shared her talent at various churches throughout the Dallas Metroplex. She was united in holy matrimony to Charles E. Grant, Dallas Texas October 27, 1957. After marriage, she united with her husband at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, White Rock. There she held the position of Minister of Music for several years. She remained a faithful member of St. Paul unto death. She was educated at Anderson Bonner Elementary School and Booker T. Washington High School Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Bishop College with a B.S. in Integrated Studies, Secondary Education. Gloria and Charles were blessed with four children. The following family members preceded her in death: two sons, Stephen Don Lewis and Barney Kevin Grant, and one grand-son Stephen Demond Mills. She leaves to mourn her passing: husband, Charles Edward. Grant; siblings, Paul Turner (Emma) and Joanna Norris (Justin); daughters, Dennye Elise Mills, Gloria Annette Grant, daughter in-law Deborah Ann Lewis (Stephen); five grand-children, Stephanie Ann and Kiah Marie Lewis, Andrea MeShonn Brown (Clarence), Charles Dean Mills, and Eunice Dionne Peoples; five great grand-children and a host of devoted in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.
