Gloria Harriet Melby Thorson's Obituary
Gloria Harriet Melby Thorson, 85, born May 19, 1931 in Glenwood, Minnesota and died peacefully December 31, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. Gloria was a beloved wife to Arvid for 64 years and a mother, grammie, aunt, and friend who was greatly loved by many. We will miss her dearly. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Thelma (Tweit) Melby; sisters, Doris, Clarice, Melva, and brothers, Peter and Howard. Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Reverend H. Arvid Thorson; sons, Tim Thorson and wife, Cecelia, Jack Thorson and wife, Charlene; daughters, Maren Devine and husband, Paul, Krista Dunham and husband, Ron; brother, Reverend Gerald Melby and wife, Barbara and family; grandchildren, Eric, Katy, Anna, Haley, Madeline and Charlotte, numerous nieces and nephews and loving friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church. Memorial Service will be held on January 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at Bethany Lutheran Church, 10101 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75238.
