Gloria M. Jeffcoat's Obituary
JEFFCOAT, Gloria Marie Bakehouse (age 88) was born in Sigourney, Iowa, January 24, 1929, and died Friday, June 9, 2017. Gloria was the daughter of Archie and Louise Bakehouse. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Northern Iowa, formerly Iowa State Teachers College. She taught music in Central City, Iowa public school before coming to Texas in 1952. Gloria met and married her husband, Lynn R. Jeffcoat in San Antonio, Texas in 1953. They lived most of their life together in and around Dallas and Richardson, Texas. Gloria taught school in the Richardson ISD and later worked for the Beneke Company in Dallas. She is preceded in death by her husband Lynn, and her brother Wilbur. She is survived by her brother Norman and wife Judy of Victoria, B.C, her son, Stephen Jeffcoat and wife, Anne of Monument, Colorado, her daughter Sue Ann Fowler and husband David of Allen, Texas, grandsons Tom Fowler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Zach Fowler of Allen, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16 at First Presbyterian Church, Richardson, Texas. In lieu of flowers, she has requested memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Choir Fund, Richardson, Texas or to a charity of your choice.
