I feel very fortunate to have had Mr. Christian as my first scoutmaster of Troop 861. What I remember most about him was his insistence on doing everything correctly or maybe I should say perfectly. Whether it was completing a merit badge, or having the "correct" uniform on for the occasion it was not going to happen unless he gave his approval! I would like to express my gratitude for all of the time, effort, destinations you took us to and the friendships we made over the years. You made a life long lasting impression on me. Mr. Christian, thank you for everything you did for us. God speed. Troy Ledbetter

Gordon Christian was one of our very treasured museum docents, coming in every Wednesday for many years. He gave the National Scouting Museum visitors over 2,700 hours of his time and knowledge, a value that we cannot put a price on. We are going to miss you so much, Gordon! God bless you. We're thankful to have enjoyed Gordon's friendship and appreciate his companionship with Vivian. His diligent volunteering at the church, at White Rock Center, and with the Boy Scouts inspired and encouraged many. We will miss his self-deprecating humor and his generous spirit. Thanks to his family for sharing him with ours.
