Mrs. Grace Boccieri's Obituary
BOCCIERI, GRACE CLAWSON, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother went to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James; and children, Beverly Adams, Michael Clawson Boccieri and Brenda Boccieri; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include Nova Festervan, Gayle Clawson, Hon. JF Clawson, and Ray Clawson. Grace attended then Southwest Texas State Teachers College and soon after married Lt. James Nicholas Boccieri, December 16, 1945, following the end of World War II. As a devoted military wife, she was dedicated to all the values that she and Jim held dear for their family and country. Grace was an accomplished hostess, cook, seamstress and gardener. She would often reflect on the fond memory of growing up in the central Texas landscape surrounded by her loving brothers and sisters. With this appreciation of hearth and home, she passed on the love of nature and all things growing to her children and grandchildren. As a dedicated educator, she taught school around the world – Puerto Rico, Germany, Hawaii and finally working in the Irving public schools library system for 17 years before her retirement in 1982. Ret. Lt. Colonel James and Mrs. Boccieri enjoyed their golden years with their involvement with the 705 Tank Destroyer Battalion, Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge traveling the country with yearly reunions. She and Jim were faithful members of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Irving, Texas since 1969. Grace will be missed by her bridge club who became her sisters, spanning more than 30 years. We will always appreciate the fine example our Mother, Mumms, wife, daughter, sister and friend bestowed upon us all. With God’s Grace, heaven will have all it’s elegance. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 635 N. Story, Irving, TX 75060. The service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the church with burial following at 2:00 PM, DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountian Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
