Mrs. Grace Elizabeth Thomas' Obituary
Grace Elizabeth Swaim Thomas age 90, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on June 21, 2013. She was born on December 21, 1922 on the family farm in Rockville, Indiana, to parents John and Mary Swaim. Grace married Charles “Ted” Thomas March 2, 1946 in Rockville, Indiana. They had been married for 52 years before Ted’s death in 1998. Grace and Ted are survived by their three children: Ann Luedke of Lynchburg, VA; Terry Thomas of Dallas, TX; and Cynthia Kalkomey of Dallas, TX. They are also survived by son-in-laws George Luedke and Kurt Kalkomey. Grace will also be missed by many other relatives and friends. Grace graduated from Indiana State Teachers College and taught home economics. Ted and Grace moved from Indianapolis to Dallas in 1958 when Ted went to work for Texas Instruments. After raising their children, they took a TI assignment in Scotland and discovered a love of travel. Grace and Ted were active in their Dallas churches, first Park Cities Baptist and later Park Forest Baptist, and volunteered for many years at North Dallas Shared Ministries. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Memorials may be made to North Dallas Shared Ministries.
