Grady was born in Shubuta Miss. to Grady Edwards, Sr. and Jessie Lee Blakney, the family relocated to Hattiesburg, Miss during his formative years. As a young adult, Grady relocated to California in 1969, and married Alyce. He then began a career in the welding profession, starting as an employee for major steel companies, ultimately leading to starting his own business, Edwards Welding, which he and Alyce began in 1985, and continued until their retirement in 2016. Grady was a calm and laid-back individual, but also a man with many interests. One of his favorite interests was a Candy Apple Red motorcycle in the mid-seventies. He loved sports, especially football and basketball. He also loved the outdoors, developing an interest in camping and boating, often taking the boat out on the water. Grady also loved to barbecue, considering himself a master griller; as well as sitting outside on the patio watching various TV shows and sports.
Even though Grady was a laid-back person he also liked to socialize with family and friends, playing cards or dominoes while his favorite blues songs played in the background.
After retirement he developed an interest in investing in real estate, something he was becoming passionate about as a beginning investor. He and Alyce enjoyed traveling, visiting several places on their bucket list.
His dry humor and easygoing personality often kept family and friends entertained and laughing.
