My heartfelt sympathy for Carol and all of Granville's family. I had the distinct pleasure of seeing Granville over a period of 16 years at the RTS Board Meetings in Charlotte, NC where I was employed and where he often came on his travels that happened to come through the Queen City. Granville and Carol loved to drive and were constantly on a road trip somewhere. But he became a special friend after my first husband died 7 and 1/2 years ago. He and Carol would call ahead and we would plan a meal or two together, depending on their length of time in Charlotte…they were taking care of orphans and widows in the genteel manner that was their signature! We always had the best laughs over the best food, both usually at his expense! The last time I had the pleasure of their company was dinner at the Greenbrier in WV when they and I were visiting the Bill Robinsons and ended up being there at the same time. Oh, what a loving and well informed personality that was barely contained within the biggest of hearts…as large as Texas. He was a treasure, and will be missed by all who knew him. God bless you Granville, above and beyond your wildest expectations, as He welcomes you to the delightful place reserved for you in Heaven…I know you are so pleased to be "home" but we will miss you!. Love to all who mourn our dear friend, Aynn Gehron Erickson.
