Gregg Cameron Michener's Obituary
GARLAND, TX – Gregg Cameron Michener, age 73, of Garland, TX, passed away on November 4, 2017 in Garland, Texas. Gregg was born on November 12, 1943 to LeRoy Michener and Hariett Hart in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He married Glenda Croom on July 25, 1983 and spent the next 34 years making and sharing many memories. He served proudly in the Army Reserves form 1965 to 1971. Gregg retired as a manager for Alcatel Network Systems in Richardson, TX where he worked for 36 years.Gregg was a man loved by all who knew him. When you met him, his calm and kind nature drew you to him as someone you just knew you could trust as a friend. He was a giver of his time and of himself. He was an athletic man and had such a love of baseball/softball and played on a team until a few months before he left this life. He loved children as he and his loving wife, Glenda had an in home daycare for 16 years and remained close to many of the children and their families. He was an amazing husband, father, friend, grandfather and most of all, a person. He will be missed by so many and will always be in our hearts, minds and memories.Gregg is preceded in death by both his parents Leroy and Harriett Michener and his grandson Luke Michener.Gregg is survived by his loving wife Glenda Michener; three daughters Amy Stump (Cleveland, OK), Melody Reecer (Muskogee, OK), Wendy Bailey (Wichita, KS); one son Garret Michener (Checotah, OK); his sister Judith Michener (Shawnee, OK); and fifteen grandchildren.He is survived by loving family and devoted friends. Gregg will be missed by all that knew him.There will be a memorial service to honor Gregg’s life on Monday, November 13, 2017 beginning at 2:30pm, at Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. There will be a reception gathering to follow once his funeral services are completed. The Reception will be held at the Restland Event Center, located across the street from Restland Funeral Home.
