Gregoria "Gloria" DeLuna's Obituary
Gregoria (Gloria) DeLuna was born on March 12, 1934, in Dallas, Texas to Hipolito DeLuna and Maria Brigida Paredes DeLuna.
She was preceded in death by her five brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by her children Simon Henry Gonzales and his wife Lou; Adrian Gregory and Chelo Gonzales; Susan Michelle and Richard McMillan. Grandchildren: (9) grandchildren, (8) great grandchildren, and (2) great, great grandchildren
Gloria was proud of growing up in a large family and loved to tell the stories of when at a young age her family drove North by truck to work in the fields. Gloria was a hard worker and taught her children the importance of working. She also taught them to pray and love the Lord. As she began to have grandchildren, they too learned to pray and look to the Lord for comfort. When growing up, grandchildren would often hear her sing two of her favorite songs, “I am a Child of God” and “Families are Together Forever”.
Gloria had become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in her teens and devoted much of her time holding various positions in the church throughout her life before she was not able to do so. Among some of the positions she held was Relief Society President, Compassionate Service leader, and Sunday School teacher. One of her dreams was to go on a mission which she was able to achieve. She served a mission at the Mexico City Temple and came back with even a stronger testimony from when she left. She had great faith and an undeniable testimony of the gospel knowing that God would provide.
She was energic throughout her life and set the bar high by not only being active in the church but working as a manager and setting time for studying or reading books at night. As a manager, she managed multiple well-known restaurants and even worked in other industries as she became interested in technology. She loved reading and learning about everything she could and had an extensive library.
Today, we do not say, “Goodbye” but so long until we meet again. Until then, Gloria will forever live in our hearts and in our memories.
