Gregory James Sanders' Obituary
SANDERS, GREGORY JAMES was born in Beaumont on July 16, 1973 and died in Lubbock on April 2, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with kidney cancer. He grew up in Richardson and graduated from Berkner High School in 1991. In 1996 he received his bachelors degree from Texas Tech University and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the Army. He later attained the rank of Captain. Greg proudly served his country for ten years and was a veteran of the Iraq War. He was preceded in death by a brother, 1st Lt. Ryan Sanders. Survivors include his wife Heather and daughters McKenna and Allison of Morton; parents Jim and Kay Sanders of Lavon; brothers Jeff Sanders of Plano and Mike Sanders of Dallas; sister-in-law Jennifer Sanders of Plano; and grandmother Joyce Sanders of San Angelo. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 7, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Restland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Renal Cell Carcinoma Research, 3411 73rd St., Lubbock, TX 79423.
