Guadalupe J. Escajeda Chapa's Obituary
CHAPA, GUADALUPE JOSEFINA Born December 12, 1928 in El Paso, Texas and passed away November 13, 2011 in Rockwall, Texas. She was a heart transplant recipient for 19 years and also a cancer survivor. She was a member of the Baylor Heart Transplant, Hearts and Lungs Association. Guadalupe was active in the PTA, an avid golfer, member of the Ascarate Women’s Golf Association. She enjoyed gardening and winning many blue ribbons at flower shows and also loved her trips to Las Vegas. Retired from Prices Creameries in El Paso, Texas. Preceded in death by parents, Pedro J. Escajeda and Josefina Escajeda. Survived by husband, Elman A. Chapa; daughters, Evelina Loya, Susan Reza and son, Mark Chapa and wife, Jennifer Chapa; grandchildren, Christopher Reza, Matthew Loya and wife Allyssa, Andrew Reza and wife Summer, Sarah Chapa; great grandchildren, Evan E. Reza, Drake A. Reza, Easton V. Loya. Also survived by 7 brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. Rosary will be held at 7:00pm, Thursday, November 17th at Restland Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, November 18th at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231 or Alzheimer’s Association, 4144 N. Central Expwy. # 750, Dallas, TX 75204.
