H. Randolph Hanes Sr.'s Obituary
H. Randolph Hanes, Sr., 89, went to be with the Lord and his oldest son Randy Jr. on December 1, 2011. Born November 6, 1922, he was the youngest of eleven children born to James Benjamin Hanes and May L. Killian Hanes. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Norma Farmer Hanes and two sons, Charles W. Hanes and Martin E. Hanes. Randy was born in Dallas, Texas and attended Woodrow Wilson High School. He was a veteran of the 300th Combat Engineers and proudly served his country in World War II from the Battle of the Bulge to the finish, and received many medals for his bravery for his service in the U.S. Army. He was always proud to take part in the yearly reunions for the 300th Combat Engineers and Veterans Day parades. Before his retirement, Randy worked as a commercial artist and was V.P. of Ralph Schutzman and Associates. He was a loving husband, father, friend, and coach to many. He is survived by one sister, Jane Hanes Mason, daughter-in-law, Georgianna Hanes, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation services will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, December 05, 2011 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel, followed by a full military honors burial service at Restland Memorial Park.
