Hae Ting Ma's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Herman, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and husband. Herman was a man of quiet strength, boundless curiosity, and a sharp mind. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his intelligence, humor, and deep devotion to his family and friends.
As a father, Herman believed in his children wholeheartedly. He was very proud of their accomplishments, yet always encouraged them to remain humble and grounded, reminding them of the importance of kindness and respect for others. He worked tirelessly to ensure they would have the opportunities to live a good life, always striving to create a stable and secure future. He enjoyed having thoughtful conversations with them about new technology, philosophy, and the world around them, and found great joy in guiding them as they navigated their own paths. His unwavering belief in them and his dedication to their well-being will continue to inspire them for years to come.
As a grandfather, Herman loved being hands-on with his grandchildren. He found joy in creating simple games for them to play and taking them on the same vacations he had enjoyed with his own children. Beyond games, he cherished the opportunity to teach them, guide them, and simply enjoy their company. His love for his grandchildren was boundless, and the memories of these joyful moments will forever be treasured.
As a brother, Herman took his role as the oldest seriously. His love for them was evident in his actions, and he embraced his responsibility with a sense of dedication and pride. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories of his love and support will remain in their hearts.
As a husband, Herman was dedicated to working toward shared goals and values with his wife. Together, they shared many years, both challenging and rewarding. Their shared life was one of resilience and enduring connection, and they found strength in each other. Herman's passing leaves a profound loss for his wife, who will carry their memories and their journey forward.
Though we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the life he lived—one of love, intelligence, and a passion for exploring. Herman was beloved by all who knew him, and he leaves behind a legacy of curiosity, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to his family. His memory will continue to live in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have crossed his path.
He is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and a wide circle of loved ones who will carry his memory with them always.
A visitation will be held on March 1st from 2:30-6:30 in Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
Rest in peace, Herman. You will never be forgotten
