Harlon D. Jones' Obituary
Harlon Dean Jones, Sr. 56, aka, Harley-of Royse City, passed away unexpectedly at his home. He is preceded in death by his Father, Harlon Lee Jones, Mother Cora L. Jones, and sister, Tina. He is survived by his wife Barbara Jones, children – Harlon Dean Jones, Jr., Tiffany Jones, Justin Jones, Joshua Jones, Brandon Gilliland; several grandchildren, sisters, and extended family. He met Barbara when they were 12 years old. They married and had the four children together. Harlon was born second in a family of eight children. He probably wished his parents had stopped with him because he ended up being the only boy in a family with seven sisters. You would think he was doomed, but he was the kind of boy that the term “you’ll shoot your eye out” was created for. BB guns, mini-bikes, fire crackers…he was ALL boy….our only boy. His love for hunting and fishing didn’t stop with him. His boys loved spending time with their dad going deer and hog hunting; and being on the lake fishing. It is ironic that he was surrounded by girls growing up, as he ended up with all boys, except for his one daughter. Harlon was fun loving and liked to have a good time. You could usually catch him on a weekend with the radio cranked up, listening to some good tunes such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top, and many others. He was a one of a kind guy and his presence in all of our lives will be sorely missed. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
