Harold D. Albertson's Obituary
Harold was born on December 28, 1931, in Parsons Kansas, the eldest son of Mamie and Dewy Albertson.
In addition to living in Parsons he also lived in McFee, CO before his family settled in Houston where he attended Milby High School in 1949. He then attended the University of Houston earning a BS in Engineering in 1953.
He married Margaret Elna Bodden on August 8, 1953, in University Park, TX.
Margaret and Harold lived in Grand Prairie, TX for approximately ten years. During that time he earned a MS from SMU in 1960. He and his family then moved to Austin, TX for three years where he earned a PhD from the University of Texas. He and his family then returned to Dallas for forty-three years and then he and Margaret moved to Frisco, TX 2010.
Harold began his engineering career as an engineer at Chance Vought Aircraft where he worked for five years. He then spent fifteen years with Texas Instruments.
After teaching a part-time engineering class at Eastfield College he realized that he wanted to teach full-time. He became a professor at Richland College where he taught Engineering Technology and Physics for twenty-five years. During his teaching career he received the Richland Excellence in Teaching Awards in 1986 and 1996. Harold was a passionate teacher who was loved by his students. He was always available to his students to listen and offer guidance, and he remained in contact with many of his students throughout the years.
Harold is survived by his daughter Anne Jobin and her husband James Jobin. He has one granddaughter, Rachel Jobin, a younger brother, Don Albertson, a cousin Jim Albertson, and several nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by Margaret in 2016 and by his younger sister, Pat Van Slyke in 2021.
Harold and Margaret were members of Believers Chapel for many years where he was a Deacon. He worked for many years recording and editing the Ministry of the Word.
Along with his family, the most important thing in Harold’s life was his salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Service will be held Friday, April 10th, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Believers Chapel, Dallas, TX. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
