Mr. Harold Ford Crocker's Obituary
CROCKER, HAROLD FORD, “POP” 95, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away December 9, 2006 in Mt. Pleasant. He was born June 23, 1911 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Ralph Crocker, Sr. and Annie (Smethurst) Crocker. He married Dorothy Brin on February 28, 1935 in Dallas, Texas. They celebrated 66 1/2 years of happiness together. Mr. Crocker was a Home Builder and Real Estate Developer in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of A.C. Garrett Masonic Lodge, a life member of Hella Temple Shrine, and was in the first full graduating class at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas in 1929. After graduating, he attended SMU for a short time, but graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1934 where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Mr. Crocker retired to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas in 1978 and was a member of the Lions Club and Fairfield Bay Shrine Club. He was also a member of the St. Francis Episcopal Church in Heber Springs, AR. He moved to Mt. Pleasant to be closer to family in August of 2006. He is survived by one son, Ken Crocker and wife Beverly of Celina, TX; daughter-in-law, Linda Crocker of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, Cathy McClure of Charlotte, NC, Ken Crocker, Jr. and wife Tam of Huntersville, NC, Karen Mars and husband Billy of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Kevin Crocker and wife Nikki of Dallas, TX; and David Crocker of Plano, TX; seven great grandchildren, Mary McClure, Brittany Crocker, Brin and Conner Mars, Catlin and Kai Crocker, and Christian Crocker; brothers, Sheldon Crocker of Baytown, TX, Ralph Crocker, Jr. and wife Margaret of Austin, TX, brother-in-law and wife, Gordon and Betty Brin of Dallas, TX and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, William; son, Thomas E. Crocker and wife Dorothy Brin Crocker. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 14th at 11:00 AM at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas with Jeff Jullian officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 7-9 PM Wednesday, December 13th at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cypress Basin Hospice, 207 Morgan St., Mt. Pleasant, TX 75455.
