Mr. Harold Fenton Easterling's Obituary
Harold Fenton Easterling, 88, of Dallas passed away on February 3, 2023. Fenton was born on November 11, 1934 to Harold and Ida Easterling in Wichita, Kansas. In 1952, after graduating from High School in Caney, Kansas, he went on to study Petroleum Engineering at Oklahoma State University. During college, he met and fell in love with Marianne Frances Lamson. They were married in 1954, and they shared over 68 happy years together. Fenton and Marianne would go on to have three children, Cathie, Darcy, and David. Fenton was a wonderful and devoted father and husband.
In 1957, Fenton got his first job as a field petroleum engineer for Texaco in West Texas and advanced to District Reservoir Engineer. In 1966, he moved to Dallas to work for the First National Bank of Dallas as a petroleum engineer in their Trust Department managing oil and gas assets. He later became Vice President at Alamo Petroleum Corp and to serve in similar roles at Amax Petroleum Corp in Houston for two years in 1981, then back to Dallas to retire at JPMorgan Chase Bank in 2002. Fenton never was one to sit idle. In 2003, he formed Easterling & Associates to provide consulting services in the petroleum industry until he retired again in 2013. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and served as Chairman of the Dallas Section. He was also an active member of the Dallas Petroleum Engineers Club and was a past President.
Fenton loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and had season tickets for 28 years. He enjoyed attending Texas Rangers games and watching Oklahoma State University football games. He liked to listen to music and go fishing with the family. He liked to travel, especially to Charleston, South Carolina where he enjoyed long walks on the beach with Marianne and eating seafood at the local restaurants.
Fenton was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ida. He is survived by his wife, Marianne; his daughter, Cathie Mason of Campbell, TX; son Darcy Easterling and wife Christine of Flower Mound, TX, and son David Easterling of Dallas, TX; his sister Sharon Aggas of Denton, TX; his brother Kevin Easterling and wife Ann of Dumas, TX; grandchildren Makenzie Mason, Andrew Easterling, Dylan Easterling, Aidan Easterling; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please donate in Fenton’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation. There will be a memorial service at the Church of the Incarnation at 3966 McKinney Ave. in Dallas on March 2nd at 11 am. A reception to follow the memorial service.
