Harold "Hal" Irving Schroeder's Obituary
Harold I. “Hal” Schroeder of Richardson, TX passed away on October 14, 2022 at the age of 102. He was the loving husband of Marcile Schroeder for 67 years until she passed away in April 2009. Survived by children Harold Jr., Sandy, Brian, Cliff and daughter-in-law Elizabeth. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Born in 1920, Hal grew up as the eldest of four boys on a dairy farm in Madison, Wisconsin. After serving in the Air Force during World War II, he continued his flying career as Aviation Department Manager for Frito Lay for 35 years. In 2006, he received the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award from the Federal Aviation Administration signifying 50 years in the aviation industry. After retirement, he worked for Consumer Credit Counseling for 15 years. Even though he had stopped flying professionally, his passion for flying never waned. He was blessed to have his own plane and continued flying well into his 90s.
A generous and loving man, he quietly demonstrated his faith to family and friends by serving others. Over the years, he held several leadership positions in his church as well as teaching Sunday school for over 20 years.
A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, October 20 at Arapaho United Methodist Church, 1400 West Arapaho Road, Richardson, TX. The family requests memorials in his honor be made to Carter Blood Care.
