Harold Mitchell Mackey's Obituary
MACKEY, HAROLD MITCHELL a resident of Dallas, unexpectedly passed away on Father’s Day, June 16, 2013. Born in January 1926 in Dallas, he is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Mackey and Myrtie Thomas Mackey; first wife, Dulce Elayne Janzen Mackey and second wife, Sallie Head Mackey. Harold is survived by his 4 loving children: Richard Mackey, Dr. Carla Proctor, Kathy Glossop and Don Mackey; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Harold worked at Todd Shipbuilding Houston shipyard constructing Liberty Ships and Shell Petroleum Refinery in Houston prior to entering the U.S. Army at the end of World War II. He was stationed in Wursburg during reconstruction of Germany receiving the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. Harold graduated from Kilgore College and attended Southern Methodist University studying finance. He excelled in retail management, retiring in 2006 from KeeKopy Mackey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Restland Memorial Chapel with visitation 2 hours prior to the service starting at 9:00AM in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be sent to The Oglesby Foundation, c/o Harold Mackey, 1409 North Waterview, Richardson, TX 75080.
