Harold A. McInroe's Obituary
Harold Alvis Mclnroe (94) died Sundy, April 20, 2025, was born November 14,1930, in Stringtown, Oklahoma. Beloved husband of Lavena Nell Gowdy Mclnroe (1951-2015) for over 64 years. Father of Karen Lynn Mclnroe Reeder (Chuck) and Patrick Joseph Mclnroe (Nina), and grandfather of four: Adam Mclnroe Reeder (Madeline), Trevor Avdey Mclnroe, Clark Christopher Reeder (Natalie) and Travis Avdey Mclnroe.
Harold was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After graduating from Midwestern State University, Harold spent his entire career as an investment banker with First Southwest Company in Dallas. He represented several premier cities and school districts in the DFW area as a financial advisor. Harold's friendly manner in working with people served him well in his career. He was a resident of Richardson for over 67 years. As a star high school football and basketball player in Wichita Falls, Harold developed a lifelong love of many sports, but especially football.
A dutiful and loving husband, he attentively cared for the love of his life, Lavena, in her later years. Lavena and Harold travelled a great deal in retirement, but their favorite place was Red River, New Mexico where they owned a cabin for many years and introduced their children to the treasures of life in the mountains. His favorite pastime was driving his beloved jeep in the New Mexico mountains. Never one to shirk from a challenge, Harold was always front and center when a major or minor car or home repair was required. He was truly the renaissance man of car and home repairs. With a curious and analytical mind, Harold could always find the right way to approach and fix a problem. He passed these traits on to his children.
Harold was an honest, forthright man who loved his family and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
