Harold M Miller's Obituary
Miller, Harold Age 101 was born at home in Dallas, TX March 4, 1912 to Henry and Vira Miller, the second oldest of ten children. He passed away peacefully at home July 8, 2013. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, great-great-great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his wife, Reida, son, Harold Jr., and daughter, Martha Randles. He is survived by daughters, Betty Rodgers and Leslyn Ballew, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild and sisters, Dorothy McDougal, Evelyn McKool and his sweetheart, Evelyn Hartline. He learned the art of the carpentry trade from his father and uncle and made a career as a Dallas home and apartment developer until he retired in 1978. Growing up in the depression and at a young age, he learned the value of hard work, He sold papers in downtown Dallas, picked cotton in Abilene with his family and caddied at Dallas’ Tenison Golf Course. Caddying is where he came to love the game of golf and became an avid golfer and had four hole in ones. He also loved to plant a vegetable garden every year and watch it grow, loved chocolate especially Snickers candy bars, but most of all and above everything else he loved his family and friends. Funeral services will be held 12:30 Saturday, July 13 at Restland Funeral Home’s Wildwood Chapel with burial to follow. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:00 pm Friday, July 12 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children’s Medical Center.
