Harold John Pitts, D.D.S., of Dallas, Texas (b. June 1, 1929, d. September 28, 2018).Harold, son of John and Mildred Johnson Pitts, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend lived a full life and was a respected dentist in Garland, Texas for over 35 years.Harold grew up on the family farm in Gordonville, Texas, with his six siblings Jo, Jeanette, Hanks, Jane, Sue, and Ann. Harold attended Whitesboro High School, where he was active in sports and excelled in academics.Harold attended what is now known as The University of North Texas. After college, he successfully took pilot training and was commissioned as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Harold was a pioneer jet pilot and flew F-89s and other all-weather interceptors in Newfoundland. After he was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant, Harold attended Baylor Dental School in Dallas, Texas. Harold established his own dental practice and had many loyal patients.During his free time, Harold enjoyed traveling, entertaining friends, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed working on his farm, where he loved to garden. He produced an abundance of delicious vegetables that were enjoyed by many family and friends.Harold is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lynn Porter Pitts, their two daughters, Laura Pitts Rossini, and husband Murray, and Amy Pitts, and his two granddaughters, Amy Rossini Singh, and husband Daman, and Ashley Rossini. Harold is also survived by his sister, Sue Cummings.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church, 8525 October 2nd Audelia Road in Dallas.
