Harold C. Pogue's Obituary
Harold Pogue, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and
friend, was called home to heaven by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He passed
away peacefully on June 3, 2020.
Harold was born on April 22, 1932, in Loco, Texas to the late William and Irene Pogue.
He was one of 11 children. Harold served his country during the Korean War as an
aircraft engine mechanic. After discharge from the Navy, Harold’s chosen career was
the printing industry.
On January 20, 1961, Harold married the love of his life, Audrey Pogue in Dallas, Texas.
He spoke often of how he knew he wanted to marry her from the moment they met at
church. The two were married 56 years until Audrey’s passing in 2017. The couple was
blessed with two sons, Mark and Greg Pogue. The family resided in Mesquite, Texas.
Both boys have fond memories of the road trips they took as a young family.
Audrey and Harold were active members of White Rock Church of Christ. Besides God
and family, what Harold loved most was gardening. Anyone that knew him knows of
his green thumb and the beautiful garden in his backyard. His grandchildren have
fond memories of gardening with Papa and visiting the arboretum to share his love of
God’s beautiful creation.
Kind, Christian, calming, and peaceful are words often used to describe Harold. He will
be missed, but the family is comforted by the reunion he is having in heaven with his
Heavenly Father and his beautiful wife, Audrey.
Harold is survived by his son Mark and his wife, Maria, his son, Greg, and his wife,
Lisa, his grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Parker, Prestynn, Rodrigo, Flor, Alonzo,
Madeline, and great-grand-daughter, Angie, his siblings Al, Tony, and Edna, a host of
cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
