Harold Ray Scoggins' Obituary
SCOGGINS, HAROLD RAY went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2007, at the age of 88. He was born in Pleasant Valley, Texas on May 6, 1918, and attended Garland High School where he was a football and track star. Ray proudly served in the US Army during WWII, under the command of General Patton. He worked for General American Oil Company and later retired from Phillips Petroleum. During the war, Ray married Maxine Bramlett, who was his wife for 52 years. Maxine preceded Ray in death. Ray is survived by a sister Lorene Ryon of Athens, Texas, and a brother Horace Faye Scoggins of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by two sons, Curtis and Gary, six grandchildren, one great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was a long time member of Lakeside Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at 6-8 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home. Family graveside services at Restland at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2007. A Memorial Service will be held at Lakeside Baptist Church, 9150 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2007.
