Harold Edward Stringer's Obituary
Harold Edward Stringer, 76, of Garland, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 4th, 2019.He was born in Pueblo, Colorado to Edward and Frances Stringer on June 4th, 1942. He graduated from Central High School in Pueblo then attended the University of Colorado in Boulder on a track scholarship. In 1964 he married Linda Cain and moved to Garland, Texas. Harold worked at Irving Tool & Mfg.Co. in Garland and became President and GM in 1976. He continued in that position until his retirement in 2018. Harold was an avid sportsman. He was a member of the Sunova Beach Rod & Reel Club, the Costal Conservation Association, and the Dallas Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing for bass in Texas and Florida, peacock bass in Venezuela, and blue marlin and sailfish on the Texas coast, Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatlan Mexico. He also loved hunting – dove in Argentina, South Texas, heck where ever they were flying!! Elk and deer in Colorado and Wyoming and goose hunts at his farm in Jack County Texas. He shot competitively in all shotgun sports – skeet, trap, sporting clays and flyers. Harold was a generous person to his many friends and to his family. He will be missed by all.Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gary Stringer and is survived by his wife, Linda C. Stringer, children Kenny Stringer of Garland, Cheryl Wooldridge of Heath, sister Diane Ritchie of Canon City, Co, and his grandchildren Kelsey Pierce, Zachary Stringer, Brooke Stringer, and Tristan Wooldridge.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at 11:00am at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas (Memorial Chapel)13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
