Harold Lee Turk's Obituary
Harold Lee Turk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, and friend to all passed away November 21, 2023 at the age of 95. He was born on October 10, 1928 in Dallas, Texas where he met and married his wife of 63 years, Maxine, whom preceded him in death.
He began his career as a mechanic for Dallas Ceramic Company where he later was part of a team sent to Monterrey, Mexico to help build a ceramic tile manufacturing company, Ceramica Regiomontana. He later became president of that very company, the Mexico division of Dal-Tile Corporation. Harold and Maxine lived in Monterrey for 40 years, the entirety of his career with Dal-Tile.
After his retirement, they moved to McAllen, Texas and later to San Antonio where they had many dear friends, with whom they loved to travel. Poppi, as known to many, had an affinity for making new friends wherever he went. He also enjoyed spending time at his ranch where he loved to hunt. He greatly loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was dearly loved by all who met him.
Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Maxine Turk; parents, Charles Frank and Addie Martha Ballard Turk; his sister, Bettye Turk Cabeen and son-in-law, Robert Parrish. He is survived by his children, Harold G. Turk and wife, Cheryn; Glenda J. Parrish, and David D. Turk; grandchildren, Christin Hevey and husband, Michael; Jessica Rhodes and husband, Jason; Ken Szilasi and wife, Tracy; Erica Jennings and husband, Matt; David L. Turk and wife, Natalie; and Kristina Hall and husband, Ian; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 29 at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave. in Dallas. A chapel service will begin at 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 30 at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland.
