Harold Wayne Williams' Obituary
Harold Wayne Williams was born July 29,1929 in Gainesville, Texas to parents, Clarence D. Williams and Cleora M. Scruggs Williams. He passed away January 28, 2024.
Harold was a long-time resident of Dallas, Texas. He is survived by son Steve Williams and Laura Benton, daughter Carol Goldin and her husband Mike. Grandsons Jeff Goldin (Stephanie), Kevin Williams (Cassie) and Drew Goldin (Katy). And great grandchildren, Luke Williams and Autumn Goldin. Along with his sister Opal Cathey and many nephews, nieces, neighbors, former coworkers and friends.
Harold joined the army in 1948 and served during the Korean War until 1952. He was part of the U.S. Army Security Agency. He went into Foreign Service in Germany as a cryptographer.
Upon returning to Gainesville in 1952 he met the love of his life, Patsy Ann Putman. They were married July 11,1953 and had almost 68 years together until she preceded him in death March 2, 2021.
Harold worked for the Teledyne Geotech Company for 36 years as a quality control engineer. He loved his job and the people he worked with. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling. Upon his retirement in 1993, he and Pat traveled the world. They loved visiting new places but what he loved most was spending time with family. He especially enjoyed his three grandsons, and nothing made him smile more that his two great grandchildren.
He was known for his kindness and his fun-loving sense of humor. He was hard working and always had time to help a neighbor or friend. He was a man of integrity and it showed in everything he did.
A celebration of his life will be held 2pm on Saturday, February 17 2024 at the Restland memorial chapel.
