Harrell James Tippit's Obituary
TIPPIT, HARRELL J., age 84, passed away December 1, 2010, in Richardson, Texas. He was born on June 4, 1926, to the late John Jackson and Annie Hanks Tippit in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. He served during WWII in the United States Navy, North Africa Theater and was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in 1951. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Norma Tippit; sister, Mary Helen Whitaker and brother, Alton Joe Tippit. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Ellen Tippit of Ben Wheeler; brother-in-law, William Whitaker of Tyler; sister-in-law, Donise Newman of Plano; nephew, Gregory Tippit of Lindenhurst, New York; nieces, Mary Gwen Savant of Dallas, Belinda Morris of Richardson and Nicole Holland of Plano. Mr. Tippit worked over 40 years for Otis Engineering as a Systems Analyst. He lived in Richardson Texas for over 50 years and was active of the YMCA. Harrell will be missed by his family and many friends. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2010 at Restland Abbey Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave; Dallas, TX 75243. Visitation will follow the service for family and friends. Interment will be at Restland Memorial Park.
