Harriet Jane Colwell Ragland
Age 93, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2020. Born Aug. 31, 1926 in Seymour, TX, the only child born to Hugh and Florence Colwell.
Moved to Dallas, TX at age two, attended Armstrong and Rosemont grade schools, graduated from Sunset High School and attended North Texas State College.
Preceded in death by her parents, Hugh B. and Florence Britton Colwell and husband of 45 years, John A. Ragland.
Family and relationships were central to her joyous life. Her greatest joy in life was the time spent with her family, her children and her grandchildren. She loved her many lifelong friends. Entertaining and hosting family gatherings throughout her life was so special to her. Harriet and her husband traveled extensively as it was their passion. She loved gardening, reading and needlepoint. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas for over 20 years. Studying the bible and reading scripture daily was very important to her.
Survived by her son Michael Malone and wife, Gloria of Harper, TX., and her daughter Patti Malone Campbell of Rowlett, TX. Also surviving is her only grandson, Michael Hughes (Malone) and wife, Julie and their children Heather and David; her five granddaughters: Alison Malone Smith and husband Dave, and their sons Miles and Greyson; Heather Campbell and fiance Paul Panzera, and their daughter Caroline; Hilary Campbell Dugan and husband Drew, and their children Levi, Campbell Scout and Jude; Holly Campbell Plummer and husband Jarod, and their sons Broxton and Axel; Hayley Campbell Quinonez and husband Jason, and their daughters Penelope and Piper, and step-granddaughter Jennifer Moody and husband Scott and their daughter, Jordan.
Due to current circumstances, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers: Michael Hughes, Dave Smith, Paul Panzera, Drew Dugan, Jarod Plummer and Jason Quinonez.
