Harry Ellsworth Hartman's Obituary
Born March 3, 1927 and passed away on April 17, 2008 after surgery complications intended to improve quality of life. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy; children, Greg and Tina Hartman, Randy and Gwen Hartman; grand-daughter, Cassandra; sisters, Lillian Stratton, Betty Chase, Michelle Grim; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Anna Staton; extended family include, Scott and Kathleen Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews. After serving in World War II, Harry spent over 40 years in floorcovering, including tours with the Paul Blackwell Co. and eventually opened his own retail showroom, Hartman’s Floors ‘n Walls. He had intense loyal devotion to his church, Chapel Hill United Methodist throughout his life. Harry was a loving Father to his children, a teacher and mentor in Chapel Hill Sunday Schools and mentorship programs elsewhere. Harry will long be remembered by his golfing and poker buddies. Nancy grieves for her best friend and partner and looks forward to reuniting their souls. Thanks go to the doctors and staff of Presbyterian Hospital who labored to save him that he might have a quality of life and live to play golf again. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 Monday, April 21, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 11:30 Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 12411 Templeton Trail, Farmers Branch, Tx 75234.
