Harry Mark Hermann's Obituary
Harry Mark Hermann, 79, of Dallas, Texas, passed away, Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at Presbyterian Hospital due to complications related to the Coronavirus. Born December 15, 1940, in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Arnold J. Hermann and Bessie (Friedman) Hermann. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1958, later completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas and Southern Methodist University. Harry maintained a practice as a Certified Professional Accountant until his death.
He was also known by his friends and family to have several well-defined passions in his life:
· Judaism and Freemasonry
· The Brooklyn Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys football, and bowling
· Military service
· Model trains and aircraft
· A life-long love of animals, especially dogs
· A big kosher deli sandwich followed by a hot fudge sundae!
Harry is survived by his two sons, Dr. David Hermann and his wife Nien-hwa, Dr. Jeffrey Hermann and his wife Donna, and three grandchildren, Sophia, Joshua, and Elspeth Hermann. His faithful companion, Monkey, has been adopted by Jeffrey’s family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Bessie Hermann, and his wife Rozann Hermann in 2019.
Grave-side services for Harry Hermann will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Sparkman-Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 7405 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225.
The Jewish War Veterans will perform funeral honors. Memorial donations may be sent in Harry’s name to Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association and Jewish Family Service.
