Harry Claude Ploehn, age 81, passed from this life to eternal life with the Lord on April 27, 2016. Preceded in death by parents Harry Frederick Ploehn and Viola (Hein) Ploehn; wife Patricia J. (Nesbitt) Ploehn; and brother Gerald R. Ploehn. Survived by wife Patricia S. (Wass) Ploehn; sister Claudia E. (Ploehn) Stahl; sons and daughters-in-law Dr. Harry J. Ploehn & Dr. Carolyn Bolton, Joseph & Nidia Ploehn, and James & Erika Ploehn; grandchildren Allison, Crystal, Cathryn, Christopher, Patricia, and William; and great granddaughter Chandler. Born on March 31, 1935, in Jersey City, NJ; graduate of Bogota (NJ) HS; a veteran of the US Navy (active duty) and the US Coast Guard reserve; a graduate of the Newark College of Engineering (BSEE) and SMU (MS); retired from AT&T Technologies (formerly Western Electric Co.) and AVO Training Institute; and a loyal member and vice commander of American Legion Post #368. Family will receive friends at Restland Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, May 6, 2016. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 S. Floyd Road, Richardson, Texas. Interment with military honors will be at 12:00 pm at Restland Memorial Park, followed by a reception at American Legion Post #368. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Seasons Hospice Foundation or the American Legion.
