Harry Sims Shields' Obituary
SHIELDS, HARRY SIMS succumbed to a brief but brave fight with cancer on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Leep Shields. He will be mourned and missed by his sons, Harry Shields, Jr., Joel Shields and Andrew Shields; his daughter-in-law, Regina Shields, and his grandchildren, Julia Shields and Benjamin Shields. Harry, a long-time Dallas architect, was a passionate man who loved reading, travel, and most of all, painting. He was a member of multiple water color groups, including the Southwestern Water Color Society and the National Water Color Society. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM, Monday, March 25, 2013 at Northhaven United Methodist Church, 11211 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75230, 214-363-2479. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or cancer research at UT Southwestern Harold Simmons Cancer Center, 5323 Harry Hines Blvd, Mail code 8590, Dallas, TX. 75390-8590 are requested.
