Harry Leroy Stover's Obituary
On Monday, January 6th, 2020, Harry L Stover, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at age 87. Harry was born on Sept 17th, 1932 in St. Louis, MO to Thomas Joseph and Thelma Stover. He received BA and BS degrees from SMU in Dallas in 1958. After a year in Germany on a Fulbright Scholarship, he attended Stanford University where he earned a Master’s and Ph.D in physics, graduating summa cum laude. His career was devoted to cutting edge technological advances, from satellite components to silicon chip development. He had three children, Russell, Larry, and Pamela, and two step-daughters, Katina and Marika, whom he loved as his own. He was married to Sophia for the last 26 years. Harry enjoyed camping, snow-skiing, swimming, watching football, traveling the world, history, linguistics, and foreign cultures. He loved comedies, Mel Brooks being his favorite, and humming Broadway show tunes.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tommy and Earl, sister Ruth, and children Larry and Pamela. He is survived by wife, Sophia, children Russell, Katina and Marika, sister-in law Delores, niece Susie, and nephews Kenny and Trey. He also treasured his grandchildren, Ryan, Brad, Kate, Madison, Alexis, Nathan, Lucas and Phoebe and many great-nieces and nephews.
