Harry W. Walker III's Obituary
Walker, III, Harry W. was born in Lufkin, Texas in October 1948. He died peacefully, surrounded by family on November 20, 2020. Described by his mother as a sweet boy, he left as a beloved sweet man. A near-lifelong resident of East Dallas, he spent his final years living independently in Little Forest Hills, a neighborhood he adored. He was a proud 1967 graduate of Bryan Adams High School, where he formed many, many friendships that have lasted the test of time, and where he also met the love of his life, Ellen. A graduate of the University of Texas, his career culminated in owning and operating a popular antique furniture store, the English Pine Company, in Dallas and Plano for many years. He had a lifelong passion for collecting things, which was evident to anyone that met him. Harry loved to read and to travel, and his many trips to England over the years to find antiques certainly shaped his personality. It also contributed to his passion for soccer, a sport he said he wished he could have played. Always willing to lend a helping hand, or to simply listen, Harry was known for his easy-going demeanor and kind, gentle and sincere personality. It often seemed that he never met anyone he did not like, and he conquered obstacles that made his family very proud. He was a proud family man and loved his children and grandchildren very much. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry W. Walker, Jr. and Margaret Walker, and wife, Ellen, who passed in 2015. He is survived by his children, Michele and Worthy, and his grandchildren, Payton, Sydney and Dean. He was a prince and everlasting kind soul who will be greatly missed.
