Harwin Thomas Cook's Obituary
COOK, HARWIN THOMAS was born on December 13, 1938 in Dallas, TX and passed away July 3, 2014 in Harlingen, TX. He is reunited with his parents, Harwin Dallas and Electa. Harwin is survived by his wife Bonnie, son James and wife Lori, daughter Jacqueline Harris and her husband Burl and his grandchildren Lala Cook and Lauren and Curtis Harris. Harwin grew up in Dallas, TX where he attended the Dallas schools and later graduated from Hillcrest High School. He graduated from Oklahoma University with a Bachelors degree in Geological Engineering and a Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering. He was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served two years as an officer in the U.S. Navy on the USS Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier. After working as a Petroleum Engineer for Shell Oil Co. in Midland, TX, Midland National Bank and The First National Bank of Fort Worth he became an independent oil operator. He was an avid fisherman and friend to all animals. A memorial service will be held at Wildwood Chapel, Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery on July 25, 2014 at 12:30 PM.
