Hayden Rebecca Strickland's Obituary
STRICKLAND, HAYDEN REBECCA CABINESS Known and loved by all as Beckey, entered into the glorious presence of her Savior on April 21, 2007 at the beautiful age of 91. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Julian Ward (‘Strick’) Strickland, who has been a faithful companion and loving husband during their many years together. Beckey was born in Blossom, Texas on December 7, 1915 to Hayden Knowles Cabiness and Harry E. Cabiness and was the third of four girls. She was a master gardener, and was state president of the Oklahoma Garden Clubs before moving to Texas in 1978, where for many years she was President of the Texas Garden Club. She was also a member of The Dallas Garden Club and The Plano Garden Club in 1987 and 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Strickland Kelley from McLean, VA and her four grandchildren and their families: Willard F. Rockwell IV (Chad), his wife Pati and their son Willard F. Rockwell V (Sam) from Pittsburgh, PA; Amanda Lynne Rockwell from McLean, VA; Daniel Gavin Rockwell and his wife Seon from Burke, VA; and David Thomas Rockwell from Alexandria, VA. Viewing will be at the Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on Tuesday from 7:00-8:30pm, and a memorial service will be held at their Memorial Chapel at 10:00am on Wednesday.
