Hazel Brown's Obituary
Hazel Brown was born on 02/13/29, and went to our Lord on 04/27/19. She was preceded in death by her ten brothers and sisters, June, Earl, Merle, Lassie, Marge, Charlie, Charlise, John, Bill, and Glen, her parents, William “Bill” and Florence Walker, as well as her son, Shawn Duran Brown.She began her life in O’Donnell, TX, the sixth of eleven children of John and Florence Walker. Hazel was an excellent student and went on to become a Registered nurse. She would have gone into pediatric care, but she got married instead. This led her halfway around the world where she ended up in Japan, with her Air Force NCO husband, Donald Brown. There they adopted their only daughter, Sharleen. Later she had a son, but he was stillborn, Shawn Duran Brown. Throughout her life she showed strength, though some may have thought her soft spoken, when she went into the childcare profession, she ended up helping at least 50 children achieve academic excellence.Those that knew her best knew she was forever your friend, a wise person, and an ace at making jokes, and loving life, but mostly God.Hazel is survived by her daughter, Sharleen Taylor, and two grandchildren, Garrison and Nakada Taylor, and a host of nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX, 75243.We will celebrate her life on May 2, 2019 at 2:30 pm, at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX, 75243.
