Hazel Pauline Garrett's Obituary
Hazel Pauline Garrett was born on October 20, 1932 in Kaufman County, a daughter of the late Carl and Mandie Saxton Whittenburg. She passed away on January 7, 2022 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 89. She was married to Kenneth Garrett on August 26, 1950 and he preceded her in death on July 2, 2015. Hazel is a breast cancer survivor. She vowed that her illness with breast cancer would not overcome her will. She began making heart shaped keepsake mementos and would give these to people as a symbol of love, hope and support.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Lisa Garrett of Garland, Texas; son, Chris Garrett of Joshua, Texas; and daughter Cynthia Garrett of Sulphur Springs, Texas. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Jason, Jeremiah, Zachary, Jennifer, Sean, Miranda and Joshua; 7 great grandchildren and her sisters Willie Bell Adams of Combine, Texas and Armanelle Valentine of Terrell, Texas.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Restland Funeral Home - 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243
The funeral service will be on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2:00pm in the Wildwood Chapel, located within Restland Memorial Park - 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243
