Hazel Russell's Obituary
Hazel Hoosier Russell, 90, beloved mother, grandmother, passed away Tuesday, Oct 12, 2015 at 7:43 PM. She was born in Deridder, Louisiana September 8, 1925 to Eugene Hilton Hoosier and Doshia Perkins Hoosier. She was the eldest of one sister and three brothers. Hazel married John Earl Russell in 1945 and they traveled the mid central part of the United States exploring for oil. They retired to Rockwall, Texas in 1967 where John passed away in 1989. Hazel lived in Rockwall for 38 years and moved to Fort Worth to live with her daughters Wanda Geron and Jeannette Pohl for the last 10 years. She worked the better part of her life in doctor offices and in 1978 graduated from nursing school with her LVN licenses. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers. Survived by daughters, Wanda Geron; Jeannette Pohl; sister, Ida Mayes; brother, John Hoosier; 2 grandchildren, Margaret Geron-Simon and spouse, Robert; Jeremy Pohl and spouse, Melinda; 3 great grandsons, Zachariah, Levi, and Kaleb Gillenwater; one great-great grandson, Dawson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends. Family will receive family and friends Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 12:30PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
