Hazel A. Thomson's Obituary
Born February 22, 1933 in Yonkers, NY and passed away on November 8, 2010 in Dallas, TX. Hazel left her earthly body surrounded by a loving family who adored her. She was a daughter, a wife, a sister, a mother, an aunt and a grandmother who served her family with quiet confidence and strength. Although she would never say it, she was a true matriarch. She took pleasure in creating meaningful family memories whether it be by organizing trips abroad, lavishly decorating the house for every holiday imaginable or planning a simple family get-together at her home. Her quiet time was spent reading books or watching home decorating shows as well as keeping in touch with friends via email and phone calls. A devout Catholic, her faith got her through several health issues as she grew older and her body became tired. Hazel’s soul is in Heaven, but her spirit lives on in those who loved her so very much. She was proceeded in death by her husband Donald Thomson. She is missed terribly by those who survived her including her four daughters Cathy Goode (husband Buddy Goode), Donna Thomson, Nancy Cartwright (husband Andy Cartwright) and Tracey Thomson all from Dallas. She also leaves three grandchildren Lindsay Goode, Andy Goode (wife Kayleigh) and Noah Thomson as well as great grand daughter Lilly Goode. Her brother Tom Farrell (wife Vicki) of Bakersfield, CA and his entire family. Godspeed, mom, we love you. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas. Visitation will be from 6-8PM Thursday at Restland Chapel, with Rosary at 7PM. Service will be at 10:00AM Friday November 12, 2010 at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Drive Dallas, TX.
